Lumbar CT and MRI are two different modalities, both have their own focus, there is no comparison between the two to say which is better or worse. And in the clinical examination of lumbar spine lesions, most of them can complement each other to make up for their own shortcomings, such as lumbar spine MRI for disc herniation compression of the severity of the nerve, or fresh old lumbar spine compression fracture, the vertebral body inside the hemangioma, or neuroma and other aspects of the lesions, the display is more clear. CT lumbar spine, on the other hand, shows more clearly the bone fracture or ligament calcification, or the change in the size of the spinal canal. So there is no contrast between these two tests per se, and it is not the common understanding that MRI is more expensive and better for the above tests. Always have your doctor do a general checkup first to determine which test is more appropriate.
