The cause of Guillain-Barre Syndrome is not completely clear in clinical practice. It is considered to be due to the body’s immune system attacking the peripheral nerves, and is usually preceded by a history of upper respiratory tract or diarrhea, so it is considered to be due to the body’s immune system-mediated peripheral nerve damage. Patients may first experience a decrease in muscle strength, usually starting at the ends of the limbs, and may also experience glove- and hosiery-like sensory deficits. The treatment of Guillain-Barre syndrome, which is clinically mediated by the immune system, consists of administering gammaglobulin or hormonal shock therapy. If the patient’s condition is serious, plasma exchange and other treatment methods can also be carried out. Some of the patients can get significant improvement of their symptoms after active treatment, while some of the patients with Guillain-Barre Syndrome will turn into chronic Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
