Stomach bleeding is upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and its severity is related to the amount of bleeding and the cause of the bleeding. A small amount of bleeding can be asymptomatic, while a large amount of bleeding can be life-threatening. Common causes of gastric bleeding include gastric ulcer, ruptured varices of the fundus, acute erosive hemorrhagic gastritis, and gastric cancer.
