Common problems when measuring blood glucose

1.Sometimes the results measured by the blood glucose meter may have errors with the results of venous blood test. At this time, the results of venous blood test in hospital shall prevail, because the blood glucose meter has errors, the domestic blood glucose meter is about 20%, and the imported blood glucose meter is generally about 15%. 2, sometimes into the needle shallow, the result is that the blood flow out of less, to squeeze the needle site to squeeze out the blood and then measured This measurement of blood glucose is not accurate. Because when squeezing the needle site, body fluid will flow out, resulting in low blood glucose measurement value. Some blood glucose meters do not have the function of additional blood samples, and the blood volume is not enough to affect the blood glucose and the error will be great. 3, sometimes it is found that the same blood glucose meter has different values for several times in a row. Whether it is a home blood glucose meter or a hospital blood glucose measuring instrument, the blood glucose value measured each time may be different. Generally speaking, as long as the error does not exceed ±20%, it is within the normal range. 4.Sometimes patients may question why our blood glucose meter and their measured values are different. At this time, we should tell the patients that the blood glucose meter will have errors, and as long as the error does not exceed 20%, it is normal, and ask whether the blood glucose meter is regularly calibrated, whether the test paper is within the expiration date, whether the storage location is dry, whether the barcode is consistent, whether the power is sufficient, whether the measurement method is correct, etc. 5.Sometimes when measuring blood glucose, we find that the measured value is very high and we have doubts, and we are afraid that the patient will have opinions. At this time, we should explain to the patient and ask him if he is willing to use another machine to measure again for comparison, and then we will come back to test whether the blood glucose meter is qualified or not. If the difference between the two values is not large, it may be sure that the blood glucose value is really high, we should report to the doctor to take measures, if the difference is large, we should contact the manufacturer to test the instrument.
