A wart that gets bigger is not a sign of cancer. A wart is a common skin disease, also known as “common warts”, caused by infection with the human papillomavirus, and is commonly found on the back of the hands and face. Cancer occurs mainly due to abnormal cell proliferation and has nothing to do with the wart. There are well-established treatments for wart, including liquid nitrogen freezing, laser spatula scraping, topical medications (e.g., 5-fluorouracil, etc.), and surgical removal. If you have a wart on your skin, you can go to a regular hospital to receive treatment, and it usually does not turn into cancer.
