Procedure for patients with diplopia

  1.If the diplopia is produced after a car accident injury or trauma, and you do not recover after 3 months to 6 months and still have diplopia, you need to have surgery or wear trigeminal lenses. During this period of 3 months to 6 months, diplopia will bring great inconvenience to your life, easy to fall and cause fracture. It is recommended to cover one eye as a transition.  2. If the diplopia is of unknown origin, first come to the strabismus specialist, and after the strabismus specialist finds out which muscle or nerve is paralyzed, it is recommended to see the neurology department or the corresponding department (the strabismus specialist will give you advice). If the problem is found in another department, you will be treated in the appropriate department. If the problem is not detected by other departments, you should return to the strabismus specialist, and if you do not recover after 3 to 6 months, you will need surgery or a trigeminal lens. During the period of 3 months to 6 months, diplopia can cause great inconvenience to your life and can easily lead to fractures from falls. It is recommended to cover one eye as a transition.  3, diplopia surgery usually does not require hospitalization, and the surgery is completed in an outpatient clinic. The cost is about $2000 for one eye and $4000 for both eyes. My surgery is scheduled for Thursday and Friday. The outpatient surgery process is as follows: (1) Please register directly for my specialist clinic number on Monday morning, Tuesday morning, and Wednesday morning at Baoqing Road, and I will clearly tell you whether you can have surgery and answer your concerns after the consultation.  (2) If you are sure you want to have surgery, I will give you a pre-operative general examination: chest X-ray, electrocardiogram, liver function, kidney function and urine test. If you are already considering surgery on the day you come to the clinic, you are advised not to eat breakfast so that you can have blood tests done on the same day, thus saving you time.  (3) You can get the results of chest X-ray and ECG in about 1 hour. If these two results are normal, first I will give you an appointment for surgery. Then do the examination related to the review, according to the examination result I will communicate with you about the problems related to the surgery, sign the consent form for the surgery, and you can go home. Come to the surgery at the scheduled time. To reduce the number of visits to the hospital, you can pick up your blood test report on the day of surgery. If the blood test report is normal, you will have the surgery; if the blood test report is abnormal, you will stop the surgery on the same day and it is recommended to go to the corresponding specialist and wait for the report to be normal before having the surgery.  7. You can remove the gauze and use your eyes the day after surgery, but you should not be too tired. You can go to work one week after surgery. No need to remove the sutures.  8, the second day after surgery, two weeks after surgery, one month after surgery, six months after surgery follow-up.
