How long can you live if you don’t eat, drink, sleep or talk?

Patients with advanced cancer can survive for about three days to two weeks without eating, drinking, sleeping or talking non-stop, with some individual differences. Cancer patients with advanced stages, often with malignant disease and mostly with systemic metastases, can be given intravenous fluids or take enteral nutrition to provide the nutrients their bodies need to sustain their lives. If nutritional support is not given, the patient may die in about 3~5 days, usually not more than 2 weeks, and giving nutritional support will prolong the survival time appropriately. The patient does not stop talking, first consider the existence of abnormal consciousness, there may be more euphoric symptoms, with the progress of the disease may slowly appear drowsy, so as to enter into a state of coma, the body gradually weakened. Patients with terminal cancer do not eat or drink, but keep talking, it is recommended that you can consult the oncologist of the regular hospital.
