Routine semen examination can be done by masturbation method, electro-massage method and puncture.
1. Masturbation method: This is the most commonly used method for routine semen examination. Men need to obtain semen through masturbation. Before this, hands and genitals should be washed carefully. After masturbation, the semen obtained should be put into a sterile cup provided by the hospital. It should be sent for testing as soon as possible to avoid compromising the results.
2. Electromassage: If some men are unable to obtain semen by masturbation, they can use electro-massage to obtain semen. The doctor will use a special electric massager inserted into the man’s rectum to massage and stimulate the prostate gland to promote semen discharge.
