Barium fluoroscopy is divided into upper gastrointestinal barium fluoroscopy and whole gastrointestinal barium fluoroscopy. The cost of upper gastrointestinal barium fluoroscopy is about$100, and whole gastrointestinal barium fluoroscopy is about$200-250. In specific cases, the doctor will decide whether to do upper GI fluoroscopy or whole GI barium fluoroscopy based on the patient’s clinical presentation. If the patient is considered to have a disease with abnormal GI dynamics, the patient is advised to perfect the barium meal. If the patient is suspected of having a disease of the mucosal phase of the GI tract, it is recommended that the patient have a gastroscopy or colonoscopy.
