What is the normal stool pattern

The normal stool pattern is golden yellow and banana-like.
In general, children’s stool color is mainly golden yellow, and adults’ stool color will deepen. Since the color of stool is greatly affected by diet, it cannot be judged simply by its color. If the stool is black, deformed or diarrhea, it is abnormal. If the stool is asphalt-colored, patients should be aware of the possibility of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Usually, the normal stool shape is a shaped banana, not dry or thin. If the stool is too thin, it is common in patients with acute and chronic enteritis. Patients with constipation and poor gastrointestinal motility are also prone to dry stools.
Patients who experience discomfort should undergo routine stool examination and occult blood test promptly. If the diagnosis is confirmed, timely medical treatment should be sought to avoid delaying the condition.
