Patients with thyroid nodules who have hyperthyroidism should have an iodine-limited diet and should not eat highly iodized foods such as kelp and nori. 1. Patients with thyroid nodules who have normal thyroid function are not recommended to consume foods with high iodine content such as nori and kelp because they may stimulate further enlargement of thyroid nodules and aggravate the condition, and they should have an iodine-suitable diet, consume iodized salt, and consume seafood in moderation. 2. If the thyroid nodule has autonomous function and leads to hyperthyroidism, it is advisable to have an iodine-restricted diet, i.e., consume non-iodized salt and avoid foods with high iodine content. 3. If the nodule is combined with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, it is advisable to have a low iodine diet, i.e. consume iodized salt and restrict foods with high iodine content. It is recommended that patients suffering from thyroid nodules keep their emotions stable in daily life, avoid anxiety and tension, strengthen daily nutrition, eat a reasonable intake of iodine, pay attention to rest, and do not stay up late.
