TCT is performed as follows: First, the patient needs to empty her bladder and lie down on the examination table. Second, the doctor needs to wear sterile gloves and then use a speculum to open the vagina of the woman to observe whether there are organic lesions in the patient’s vagina and cervix. Third, a small brush for TCT can be placed on the squamous-columnar junction of the patient’s cervix and turned three times to the left and three times to the right, or reduced to one turn to the left and one turn to the right if the patient has more cells, and then the brushed cells can be placed in the preservation solution and sent for examination. If the patient’s cervix is very small, after menopause or because of excessive cervical flexion after cesarean section, in this case it is necessary to use a cervical forceps to clamp the cervix and then use the extraction brush to take the sample for examination.
