What’s wrong with metastatic kidney cancer?

Metastasis of kidney cancer occurs only when the kidney cancer has progressed to a mid to late stage, when the tumor has increased in size, or when some specific types of tumor cells have metastasized.

Kidney cancer metastasizes and spreads only in the middle and late stages. When kidney cancer is very small at the beginning, there is a pseudo-envelope at the periphery that will prevent cancer cells from spreading and is not prone to metastasis. When the tumor increases in size or some special types of tumor cells will metastasize and spread. There are three main ways of kidney cancer metastasis: direct infiltration, lymphatic metastasis and hematological metastasis, and lung and bone are the most common sites of metastasis. Lung metastasis most commonly causes coughing up blood, and bone metastasis most commonly causes fractures and bone pain.

Because of the atypical symptoms of kidney cancer, many patients have already metastasized by the time they seek medical attention. However, there is no need to worry too much because although kidney cancer is also a type of cancer, there are now advances in medical care and there are a variety of kidney cancer treatment options available for patients to choose from.

For people with a high incidence of kidney cancer, they need to do a good job of daily prevention, avoid taking a lot of long-term drugs that harm the kidneys, improve their bad habits in daily life, not staying up late to get enough sleep, not eating greasy and irritating food, doing proper exercise to improve immunity, and eating more green fruits and vegetables.
