Some patients with eczema dermatitis need to be tested for food intolerances

At least 50% of the population has different degrees of adverse reactions to certain foods. The incidence is higher in infants and children than in adults. Most patients with food intolerance present with gastrointestinal symptoms and skin symptoms, and some patients with eczema dermatitis have recurrent episodes of symptoms that may be related to food intolerance. Food intolerance refers to a complex metabolic disease in which the human immune system treats one or more foods that enter the body as harmful substances, thereby generating an excessive protective immune response against these substances and producing food-specific IgG antibodies, which form immune complexes with food particles (type III metabolic reaction) and can cause an inflammatory response in all tissues (including blood vessels) and manifest as symptoms and diseases of all systems. It can be seen that food intolerance is fundamentally different from food allergy, which is mediated by IgE and is a type 1 allergic reaction with rapid onset and can be relieved with antihistamines. There are 14 more common intolerant foods, including: beef, fish, corn, mushrooms, milk, rice, shrimp, soy, tomatoes, wheat and crab. They can be tested with a 0.5ml blood draw. The doctor adjusts the diet (safe to eat/ alternate/ prohibit) according to the degree of food intolerance (-/+/++/+++) and the symptoms of eczema dermatitis may be reduced, or even completely relieved.
