Sporotrichosis is not AIDS, but a form of Pneumocystis pneumonia. Sporotrichosis is common in patients with severely compromised immune systems, and may occur when the body’s immunity is compromised. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is the most common form of infection, and opportunistic infections occur most often when the disease has entered the AIDS phase, and also in patients who have been on immunosuppressive drugs for a long period of time. Patients with sporotrichosis usually present with a cough and a dry cough, accompanied by fever. It is usually treated with oral medications such as sulfamethoxazole or potassium iodide, or in combination with methylprednisolone in patients with significant hypoxemia. Therefore, patients suffering from sporotrichosis infection should go to the hospital in time for consultation and early treatment, and the drugs should be used under the guidance of doctors, avoiding self-medication.
