Early Symptoms of Sinus Cancer

Early symptoms of sinus cancer usually have no obvious symptoms, but they cannot be ignored and patients are recommended to find and treat them early. If the condition of sinus cancer progresses, it may manifest as unilateral nasal congestion, nosebleed, bloody nasal discharge, decreased sense of smell, local pain and numbness, tearing and diplopia. It is suggested that patients can go to the hospital for sinus CT or magnetic resonance imaging and so on. Define the cause of the disease. If the disease is prolonged to the advanced stage, symptoms of cachexia such as facial deformation, enlarged lymph nodes, anemia and emaciation may also appear. Sinus cancer can also show different symptoms according to the location of tumor. If the tumor is in sieve sinus, it may be asymptomatic, sometimes with bleeding; if the tumor is in frontal sinus, the symptoms will appear only after the invasion destroys the wall of frontal sinus. Patients suspected of having sinus cancer are recommended to go to the hospital for sinus CT, sinus magnetic resonance imaging, X-ray, nasal endoscopy and other examinations. The earlier the sinus cancer is detected and treated, the better the prognosis.
