Blood lipid reduction methods

In clinical practice, there are two main ways to lower blood lipids, the first is lifestyle intervention improvement and the second is medication. Lifestyle interventions mean that patients are advised to quit smoking, quit drinking, eat a low-salt, low-fat diet, exercise to lose weight, and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, which can also help reduce blood lipids. If, after lifestyle intervention, the lipid level is still not controlled within the standard range, it is recommended that patients should start lipid-lowering drug therapy, and the commonly used antihypertensive drugs are statin lipid-lowering drugs, which mainly aim at lowering LDL and total cholesterol, and they also have the effect of raising HDL cholesterol. There are benzofibrate and fenofibrate, which mainly aim at lowering total cholesterol and triglycerides; the representative drugs of statin class mainly include atorvastatin, simvastatin and rasulvastatin, etc.
