Stroke is known as stroke in western medicine. The treatment measures for upper limb weakness in stroke mainly include general treatment, drug treatment, surgical treatment, rehabilitation training, etc., as follows:
1. General treatment: in the acute stage of the disease, patients should take bed rest and avoid activities. At the same time, attention should be paid to strengthen the patient’s oral cavity, skin and urinary and fecal life care, to avoid complications.
2. Drug treatment: The treatment methods for ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke are different. Ischemic stroke can be treated with thrombolytic therapy (e.g. alteplase, etc.), as well as antiplatelet drugs (e.g. aspirin), lipid-lowering and plaque-stabilizing drugs (e.g. atorvastatin), etc. In hemorrhagic stroke, the main treatment is mannitol. Hemorrhagic stroke is mainly treated with mannitol dehydration to lower cranial pressure and control blood pressure.
3. Surgery: For suitable patients, surgery can be chosen under the guidance of doctors. Patients with ischemic stroke can choose acute stenting or balloon dilatation, stenting and other methods. For hemorrhagic stroke, surgery such as craniotomy for hematoma removal and ventricular decompression and drainage can be performed.
4. Rehabilitation training: Doing rehabilitation training diligently is conducive to the recovery of damaged functions. Rehabilitation training should firstly maintain the position of good limbs, and secondly, family members should help patients do passive movements of upper limbs, such as instructing patients to cross fingers, helping patients to lift upper limbs and slowly bend elbow joints, etc. Lastly, patients can also be helped in appropriate ways in normal times. Finally, we can also help patients massage their upper limbs appropriately.
When the diagnosis of stroke is confirmed, the treatment should be standardized in accordance with medical advice.
