The uncontrolled twitching of the little finger is mainly due to the following reasons: First, ask the patient if there is any strenuous movement of the upper limbs or hands or prolonged activity, because prolonged or strenuous movement will cause increased muscle excitability, which may cause uncontrolled twitching of the little finger. Secondly, elderly patients with previous hypertension and diabetes mellitus should undergo cranial magnetic resonance examination and electroencephalography to find out whether there is lobar infarction and whether there is any possibility of focal epilepsy caused by cerebral infarction. Thirdly, if a young patient has uncontrolled twitching of the little finger, ask the patient if there was a difficult birth or intrauterine distress or asphyxia during the delivery.
