Will follicular plugs leave scars?

Follicular keratosis alone does not usually leave a scar. There is no specific treatment for follicular plugs and they cannot be fully restored to their original skin condition. After the basic treatment of keratosis pilaris and the removal of the plugs, tiny cup-like dimples can be seen, which may result in large pores and the re-growth of the plugs shortly afterwards. In the case of specific diseases that cause follicular plugs, such as those with a scaly surface, even if the plugs are removed, the original lesions will remain.
