Patients with endocarditis tend to present with fever, weakness of the limbs, night sweats, loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and weight loss. Clinical diagnosis is usually based on symptoms combined with relevant tests. General ancillary tests include cardiac ultrasound, blood count, blood culture and electrocardiogram.
Prompt medical attention is recommended if any of the above symptoms are present to avoid delaying the best time for treatment.
