What to do if you leak urine a year after a hypospadias

Urinary leakage after one year of hypospadias should be repaired surgically.
Leakage of urine after urethral hypospadias is a common complication, which is caused by the formation of fistula due to poor recovery of the newly formed urethra from the original urethral articulation site. It is mostly caused by infection, poor blood flow to the surgically reconstructed urethra, poor wound recovery due to local tissue ischemia, and wound dehiscence, so it is especially critical to prevent the newly constructed urethra from becoming infected after surgery.
Complications such as urethral fistula and urethral stenosis may occur after surgical mending, and good care is needed to keep the penis dry and promote wound recovery. If the patient develops leakage, another surgical repair is needed, usually 3-6 months after surgery, when the surrounding tissues have recovered well, the infection is controlled, and the scar has stabilized before the fistula is repaired.
Leakage of urine one year after the occurrence of hypospadias, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for standardized treatment as early as possible to reduce the adverse effects.
