Why are your ears buzzing?

Ringing in the ears, i.e. tinnitus, is a subjective symptom that is felt by patients who are self-conscious and there is no corresponding external source of sound that causes tinnitus. Tinnitus, a common symptom in otolaryngology.

There are many causes of tinnitus, including tinnitus caused by diseases of the ear itself, tinnitus caused by other physical causes, and mental and psychological factors, which are also the main causes of tinnitus. There are many factors that cause tinnitus in the ear itself, such as various foreign bodies in the external ear canal, especially tiny foreign bodies that hit the eardrum with head movement and cause tinnitus; cerumen embolism in the external ear canal; cholesteatoma in the external ear canal; and fungal otitis externa. If these causes of tinnitus are removed, the tinnitus will soon disappear. There are also various diseases of the middle ear, such as secretory otitis media; tympanic membrane perforation caused by various reasons, etc., which are more effective after treatment. More tinnitus, which is sensorineural tinnitus, is also the most difficult tinnitus to treat. Tinnitus caused by other parts of the body is commonly caused by cardiovascular diseases; myogenic tinnitus, etc.; factors such as high psychological stress and poor sleep can also cause tinnitus.

If the cause of tinnitus can be found, the treatment effect is better. Sensorineural tinnitus, on the other hand, is difficult to treat because the cause is unknown, so early treatment is especially important. If tinnitus occurs, go to the Department of Otolaryngology as soon as possible and seek treatment as soon as possible.
