1. Liver Tonifying Pill is composed of white peony, chuanxiong, angelica sinensis and dihuang. It has the effect of tonifying deficiency and dispelling wind. It is used for dizziness caused by deficiency of liver and blood coupled with wind, dizziness, dystocia (pain in the area of coeruleus and ribs), headache, pain in limbs, etc. It is not suitable for people with deficiency of Yin and hyperactivity of Yang. It is not suitable for people with yin deficiency and hyperactivity of yang; pregnant women should take it under the guidance of a physician.
2. Gui Shao Di Huang Wan (归芍地黄丸) is composed of Angelica sinensis, Paeonia lactiflora, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata and Cornus Officinalis. It has the effect of nourishing the liver and kidney, tonifying yin and blood, and clearing away deficiency and heat. It is used in patients with deficiency of liver and kidney, deficiency of yin and blood, dizziness, tinnitus, dryness of the throat, afternoon hot flashes, lumbar and leg pain, and heel pain. Caution should be exercised if the spleen is deficient in loose stools (thin and unformed feces).
It has the effect of tonifying the liver and kidney, strengthening the muscles and bones, and making the beard and hair black. It is used for the deficiency of liver and kidney, dizziness, tinnitus, lumbago, numbness of limbs, early whitening of hair; also used for hyperlipidemia.
