Role of hydrocolloid dressings

Hydrocolloid dressings are used to protect wounds and promote healing. Used primarily for bedsores, the hydrocolloid dressing can be applied directly to a sterilized bedsore wound or a wound that is about to develop a bedsore. This colloid dressing has good elasticity and good breathability, which can help the recovery of bedsore wounds and avoid further aggravation of bedsore wounds. To apply the hydrocolloid dressing, the patient’s wound is first cleaned and disinfected, then the hydrocolloid dressing is attached directly to the wound after drying. It does not need to be changed daily, and it is recommended to change it once every 3-5 days, and pay attention to observe the recovery when changing it. If the wound gradually recovers, it can continue to be used; if the wound gradually worsens, it is recommended to change to other ways of treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
