The clinical manifestations of micrognathia syndrome generally include bird-like face, cleft palate, tongue drop, cardiovascular lesions, etc. Micrognathia with only one or two of the above symptoms is considered mild, and the more symptoms appear, the more serious the condition.
1. Bird-like face: the underdevelopment of the mandible leads to a particularly small jaw, which is called the characteristic bird-like face.
2. Cleft palate: about 50% of patients have cleft palate.
3. Hypoglossia: The root of the tongue falls back when it loses the traction of the mandibuloglossus muscle due to mandibular deformity, which can lead to respiratory obstruction.
4. Cardiovascular damage: a small number of patients with cardiovascular malformations, such as aortic constriction, arterial catheterization and so on.
If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time.
