Diagnosis and treatment of atopic dermatitis

“Atopic dermatitis”, also known as “atopic eczema” and “genetic allergic eczema”. The cause of the disease is complex, and is generally considered to be related to a variety of factors such as genetics and the environment, occurring in children mostly related to food, and sometimes to infection, pollen, house dust mites or exposure to irritants. Current prevention: (1) Avoid all external stimuli, clothing should be light, soft and loose, try to wear cotton underwear. (2) Avoid excessive skin washing, especially avoid scalding with hot soap or disinfectant water. (3) Do not wear clothes that are too warm to avoid the stimulation of sweat. (4) Try to keep the home environment as hygienic and clean as possible. Reduce the house dust mites, lint, fungus, etc. (5) Diet should be light, avoid spicy stimulating seafood and so on. Current treatment: (1) Oral antihistamine preparations, children can use paracetamol or benadryl syrup, such as long-term use when it is appropriate to change the type of antihistamine preparations regularly. (2) Sodium cromoglycate 100 mg orally three times a day. (3) If there is a combination of infection, antibiotics can be used for a short period of time. Topical therapy: combination of topical hormones and antibacterials or use of compounded preparations is effective. Such as paregoric pine cream, trimethoprim cream, etc..
