The nostrils will not get bigger if you pick your nose often. Because the nostrils are composed of cartilage and soft tissue together, they are stretchable and relatively soft, so they will automatically retract to their original shape after frequent nose picking. Normal people also do not use anything too thick or too large to pick their nose, and unless it causes the rupture of the anterior nostril, the nostril will not usually become larger. However, frequent picking of the nose is not recommended because there are many sebaceous glands in the anterior nostrils that induce infection after frequent picking. If the sebaceous gland cyst continues to pick the nose after it appears, it can lead to the spread of inflammation, which can infect the skull through the ophthalmic and medial canthal veins and lead to thrombotic cavernous sinus phlebitis, resulting in fever, headache, and even life-threatening conditions.
