Is HPV type 52 positive serious?

Positive HPV type 52 is not a serious condition, but requires close follow-up surveillance. Cervical HPV testing is divided into high-risk and low-risk infections, with the high-risk types being more associated with cervical cancer than the high-risk types 16 and 18. Although type 52 is also a high-risk infection, its association with cervical cancer is weak. At this point, if the test is positive for type 52, it should be combined with the results of cervical TCT. If the TCT result indicates a benign lesion, no special treatment should be given for the time being, and the corresponding cervical HPV test should be performed again after 3-6 months. If the TCT results suggest abnormalities and the presence of cells with atypical hyperplasia, a colposcopic cervical biopsy should be performed.
