If you want to feel out the fibroid, you can lie down on the bed in supine position, put pressure on the opposite side of the breast with four fingers together, and rub the opposite side of the breast in clockwise direction to find out whether there is any lump or not. Breast fibroma is mostly located in the upper outer quadrant of the breast, which is round or ovoid, the surface of fibroma is generally smooth and hard, the boundary is clear and the skin is not adherent, it can be pushed around the breast but let go of it and return to its original position. Breast fibroids are mostly manifested as painless lumps in clinic. Fibroids with a diameter of about 1 cm or more can be detected by physical examination, but smaller fibroids or fibroids located in the breast glands near the deeper layers are not easy to be detected. In some patients with thickened glands, fibroids over 1 cm in diameter cannot be detected by physical examination. Further examination of mammogram and breast ultrasound may help in the diagnosis. Breast fibroadenoma can occur in women of any age after puberty. If you suspect that you have breast fibroadenoma, it is recommended that you go to a regular hospital to complete the relevant examinations and have your doctor make a diagnosis or rule it out.
