Sore knees are not necessarily gout, but could be other diseases. If it is caused by gout, it tends to flare up at night or in the early hours of the morning, and is mostly characterized by redness, swelling, heat and pain in the joints of the knee, inability to walk, and severe pain. There is mostly limitation of movement. In addition, elevated blood uric acid and other indicators can be found on further examination, as well as joint ultrasound and CT imaging can be seen on the basis of urate crystals. If the knee is sore without the above symptoms and no abnormality of the above indexes is found in the examination, then it is usually not gout but caused by other reasons, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and so on. Some people may also experience knee pain if their knees are overworked and the burden on the knees is increased. All in all, knee pain is not necessarily gout, gout is only one of the causes of knee pain. Patients with knee pain are advised to go to the rheumatology and orthopedics departments of regular hospitals for further clarification of the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
