The difference between mechanical intestinal obstruction and strangulated intestinal obstruction lies in the cause of formation, severity and treatment. 1. Causes: Mechanical intestinal obstruction is caused by mechanical narrowing or blockage of intestinal lumen due to ascaris lumbricoides, fecal mass, foreign body, intestinal adhesion and so on; strangulated intestinal obstruction is caused by obstruction of intestinal blood transportation. 2. Severity: the severity of mechanical intestinal obstruction is much less than that of strangulated intestinal obstruction, in addition to intestinal obstruction pain (abdominal pain), vomiting (vomiting), distension (abdominal distension), closure (no defecation and exhaustion), strangulated intestinal obstruction may also occur due to the necrosis of intestinal tissues caused by the obstruction of blood flow, intestinal perforation, and then diffuse peritonitis, septicemia, and so on. 3. Treatment: Mechanical intestinal obstruction is mostly treated by gastrointestinal decompression, supportive therapy and other conservative treatments; strangulated intestinal obstruction is mainly treated by surgery, and it is necessary to lift the obstruction of intestinal blood flow as early as possible through surgery. It is recommended that patients with the above symptoms actively go to the hospital for medical treatment.
