Medication is symptomatic and is usually used to control seizures caused by cerebral arteriovenous malformations. Surgical treatment includes interventional embolization, craniotomy, and a combination procedure (embolization + craniotomy). In addition, some arteriovenous malformations can be treated with radiation therapy using the Gamma Knife.
