Age is not a consideration for surgery or not. In patients with unruptured cerebral arteriovenous malformations of grades 1 and 2, the risk of malformation bleeding is much higher than the risk of treatment. In addition, for minor neurological complications, recovery and compensatory capacity are better in children than in adults.
