Hyperlipidemia Literacy

Dyslipidemia (hyperlipidemia): usually refers to abnormalities in the quality and quality of plasma lipids. Lipids: A general term for neutral fats (cholesterol or and triglycerides) and lipids. What are triglycerides? Triglycerides are fats that are supplied by food and synthesized by the liver in the small intestine. Triglycerides in the blood provide the body with capacity. If triglycerides are too high, they can promote hardening and blockage of blood vessels, causing coronary heart disease and stroke. What is Cholesterol? Most sources of blood cholesterol are produced by the liver, with a small portion coming from food. Cholesterol must be transported to the tissues by binding to lipoproteins. If blood cholesterol is too high, it can stick to the walls of blood vessels and form blood clots.
