The drainage tube of nephrectomy surgery can be removed 2~3 days after surgery under normal circumstances, and the time of removal under special circumstances depends on the condition.
Drainage tube is placed after nephrectomy, usually to drain the fluid in the body cavity, used to observe the bleeding and exudation after surgery, generally for preventive application, under normal circumstances, if the drainage fluid is less than 50 ml, it can be routinely removed, about 2~3 days after surgery.
If it is found during observation that the drainage fluid is fresh blood, the drainage flow is large, or the drainage fluid appears pus, etc., the drainage tube can not be removed temporarily, and the cause needs to be found out for the treatment of the cause, such as bleeding to give drugs or surgery to stop bleeding.
The time of drain removal after nephrectomy should be determined by the doctor in charge of the bed according to the amount and color of drainage fluid, and the time of removal varies according to different conditions.
