Pressing pain on the right rib edge may be caused by physiologic factors such as sitting incorrectly, getting cold, or pathologic factors such as costochondritis, trauma, pleural or lung diseases. 1. Physiological factors: when cold, sitting improperly, etc., may pull or stimulate the muscles at the edge of the right side of the rib cage, thus causing pain, which can be relieved by correcting the sitting posture and keeping warm. 2. Costochondritis: overwork, infection or immune factors, etc., the periosteum of the rib cage is stimulated, resulting in aseptic inflammation, and pain will occur when the edge is pressed. 3. Trauma: Trauma causing rib fracture or local soft tissue injury, manifested by local pressure pain, visible skin lesions or bruises. 4. Pleural or lung disease: inflammation invades the pleura, and there will be pain when pressing, and low fever, night sweats and other systemic symptoms are accompanied by tuberculosis mycobacteria infection. There are other causes of right rib edge pressure pain, and it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in time to avoid delaying the condition.
