Kidney stones belong to the category of stone drenching (discharge of gravel during urination, or sudden interruption of urination, pain in the urethra, intolerable pain in the lower back and abdomen) of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and there are more herbs for treating kidney stones, such as Qianqiang Herb, Psyllium Hederariae, and other Chinese herbs. Moneywort: It has the effect of inducing dampness and eliminating yellowish color, diuretic and diaphoretic (to improve the problem of dribbling in urine, small amount of urine not passable), detoxifying and reducing swelling. It is used for treating jaundice, edema, rheumatism paralysis, malaria, diarrhea, gonorrhea, carbuncle, sores and ringworm. Pregnant women are prohibited. Psyllium: It has the effects of clearing away heat and diuresis, subduing dampness and stopping diarrhea (removing dampness to treat diarrhea), brightening the eyes, and expelling phlegm. It is used in treating dysuria (unsmooth urination), gonorrhea (cloudy urination and leucorrhea), edema and distension, summer-dampness and diarrhea, redness and opacity of the eyes, phlegm-heat and coughing.
