There are physiological and pathologic reasons for hot feet at night. Physiological causes such as too thick quilt; pathological causes such as autonomic disorders, diabetes, frostbite, lower extremity arterial vein thrombosis, etc., can be further examined to confirm the diagnosis. 1. Physiological causes: when sleeping at night, the quilt is too thick, which can cause foot burning. 2. Pathologic causes: such as autonomic nerve disorders, diabetes, frostbite, lower extremity arteriovenous thrombosis, etc. (1) autonomic dysfunction: mostly seen in peri-menopausal women, is due to the reduction of estrogen caused by autonomic dysfunction symptoms, can appear insomnia, excessive sweating, hot feet, red face and other symptoms. (2) Diabetes mellitus: It is a metabolic disease, when the blood sugar control is unstable, it leads to the sensory nerve damage of both lower limbs and abnormal sensation of the feet. Burning discomfort in the feet may occur, and blood sugar can be checked to confirm the diagnosis. (3) Frostbite: It occurs mostly in the cold weather season, and may cause localized itching, swelling and other symptoms, and the itching is aggravated at night when the feet are heated. (4) Lower extremity arteriovenous thrombosis: it can occur unilaterally or bilaterally, due to poor blood circulation in the lower extremities, resulting in abnormal sensation, and can be diagnosed by checking the lower extremity vascular ultrasound. After eliminating the physiological reasons, you should consult a doctor in time.
