What is gouty arthritis?

  Gout is a group of diseases caused by the disorder of purine metabolism in the body, resulting in elevated blood uric acid, and has a tendency to gather in families. Gout usually goes through the following stages: asymptomatic hyperuricemia, acute gouty arthritis, chronic gouty arthritis, and gouty nephropathy.
