Cupping method is also known as fire cupping, the ancient name of “horn method”. Mostly used for paralysis, blood cupping is applied to acute sprains with stasis, sores, some skin diseases, such as dermatitis, neurodermatitis, etc. 1, the type of jar: there are three types of jars commonly used in clinical practice: glass jars, bamboo jars, ceramic jars. 2, the method of cupping: ① fire cans: is the use of fire burning in the jar, forming a negative pressure, so that the jar adsorbed on the skin, individual operation methods are as follows. (1) flash fire method: use tweezers or hemostatic forceps to hold the burning alcohol cotton balls, in the fire cans around a circle, and then quickly withdraw, quickly snap the cans in the application site. This method is simple and safe, not limited by body position, and is a commonly used clinical method. (2) Fire throwing method: ignite a piece of paper or alcohol cotton ball, put it into the can, and then quickly snap the can to the site of application. (Restricted by body position) (3) Dropping method: Use 95% alcohol or white wine, drop 1-3 drops into the can (do not drop too much wine, so as not to burn the skin when cupping), shake well along the inside of the can, ignite it with fire, and then quickly snap the can on the area to be cupped. (Restricted by body position) (4) Cotton stick method: Use a piece of alcohol cotton of suitable size, stick it on the lower 1/3 of the inner wall of the can, ignite the alcohol cotton with fire and then quickly snap the can on the area to be cupped. (Restricted by body position) ② Medicine jar: first put the prepared medicine in a cloth bag, tie the mouth of the bag, put in water and boil it to the proper concentration, then put the bamboo jar into the liquid and boil it for about 15 minutes, take out the bamboo jar with tweezers, pour the liquid inside the jar, quickly clasp the mouth of the jar with a cool towel, and immediately snap the jar on the area to be cupped, that is, it can be adsorbed on the skin. This method is used in combination with drugs to strengthen the effect of removing wind and relieving pain, and is often used for rheumatic paralysis and pain and certain soft tissue diseases. Most of the drugs used are herbal medicines for draining the wind and activating the blood circulation. 3, start cupping: cupping, generally leave the jar for 10-15 minutes, when the local skin stasis, remove the jar. When removing the can, the left hand holds the can, the right hand presses the skin at the mouth of the can, so that the air enters the can, the fire can can be released, do not pull or rotate hard to avoid damage to the skin. If the jar is large and strong adsorption, you can shorten the time of the jar to avoid blistering. 4, special use: clinically, according to the needs of the condition, fire cans and the following common methods: ① go cans: also known as push cans. That is, first apply a layer of petroleum jelly or lubricant on the skin of the application site, and then use the above method to cupping, then the doctor holds the jar with the right hand, up and down or left and right and the lesion site, back and forth to push, to the degree of local skin congestion and redness. This method is suitable for larger areas, such as the back, waist and hip, thighs and other parts. ②Flash cupping: after cupping the jar, immediately get up and down, and so on repeatedly until the skin is flushed or congested. ③ stabbing cupping: after sterilization of the application site, use a trigeminal needle to puncture the bleeding or skin needle percussion, and then perform cupping to enhance the blood circulation and eliminate blood stasis, swelling and pain relief. 5, the scope of application: cupping has a warming meridians, moving Qi and blood, dispelling dampness and cold, dispersing blood stasis, relieving swelling and pain, commonly used in paralysis (such as back pain, shoulder and back pain), gastrointestinal disorders (such as stomach pain, abdominal pain), lung disorders (such as cough, asthma). Stabbing cupping method is suitable for acute sprains with blood stasis, sores, certain skin diseases, such as dermatitis, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, etc. 6, precautions: ① patient position to be comfortable, according to the site to choose the size of different caliber of the fire can, pay attention to choose the more plump muscles, no hair and bone bumpy parts, to prevent the fire can fall off. ②Cupping fire should be sufficient, the jar mouth close to the site of cupping, the operation should be rapid and light, to achieve stability, accuracy, fast, in order to pull the jar tight, otherwise affect the effectiveness of treatment. ③Cupping is not recommended for areas with skin ulcers, edema and large blood vessels; cupping is also not recommended for people with high fever and convulsions, as well as for the abdomen and lumbosacral area of pregnant women. ④Patients with spontaneous bleeding and those who bleed more than once after injury should not use cupping. ⑤ When using fire cupping, be careful not to burn or scald the skin. If you burn or leave the cupping for too long and the skin blisters, do not deal with the small ones, but when the blisters are large, use a sterile needle to release the water, apply gentian violet solution and cover with a dressing to prevent infection.
