Within 6 hours of the onset of aphakia after retina surgery, the treatment can be timely applied to dilate blood vessels and reduce intraocular pressure, and take eye massage, oxygen and other therapeutic methods. After 6 hours of retinal surgery, it is mostly difficult to treat. Most of the time, the absence of light after retinal surgery is due to the obstruction of retinal arteries. Because the retina is single-vesseled, an irreversible change can develop after about 6 hours of obstruction. Therefore, within 6 hours of the onset of aphakia, patients should be promptly treated with vasodilating and IOP-lowering medications, such as paracentral temporal artery injections of cotrimoxazole injection and oral vinpocetine. Ophthalmic massage, oxygen inhalation, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, etc. can be considered in conjunction with drug treatment. It is mostly difficult to treat patients after 6 hours of aphakia. It is recommended that the patient should seek medical treatment as soon as he/she develops aphakia.
