What’s with the eyelid pain?

Eyelid pain may be due to blepharitis, or it may be related to acute dacryocystitis, eyelid trauma and other factors, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital as soon as possible, to clarify the cause of the disease, and treat it as soon as possible.
1. Blepharitis: Blepharitis, also known as granuloma, is caused by Staphylococcus aureus infection, and when the eyelid is infected, symptoms such as pressure and pain, redness, swelling, and congestion will appear, which can be treated with topical levofloxacin eye drops.
2. Acute dacryocystitis: Acute dacryocystitis is mainly caused by the blockage of the lacrimal gland, lowered immunity and pathogenic bacterial infection, and the bacterial infection will spread to the eyelid area, which will lead to eyelid pain and swelling. Patients can use topical eye drops or oral penicillin and other antibiotic drugs for treatment.
3. Eyelid trauma: rubbing the eyes or bruising the eyelids may also cause eyelid pain, which can be treated with erythromycin ophthalmic ointment.
Patients are advised to pay attention to eye hygiene and avoid rubbing the eyes with hands to prevent aggravating the infection.
