What is a patchy shadow in the lung?

Pulmonary patchy shadow refers to the presence of lesions in the lungs on chest X-ray or CT examination. The patchy shadow is the result of X-ray examination, and the clinical significance should be combined with other clinical manifestations. Generally, speckle shadow indicates lung infection, but whether the infection is acute or chronic, and whether treatment is needed, requires comprehensive judgment. If the patient has corresponding symptoms, such as coughing, coughing sputum, chest tightness, breath-holding, fever, etc., the speckle shadow is considered to be a lung infection, and it will be accompanied by increased blood count or increased blood sedimentation, C-reactive protein, PCR, and all the above changes indicate acute infection in the lung and need to be treated accordingly. If the patient has no pulmonary discomfort, no cough, sputum or increased body temperature, consider whether the intrapulmonary patchy shadow is an old lesion, which is now effectively controlled and has no effect on the organism, and review it in 1-3 months. If it is the same as now, consider the old lesion, which indicates a previous intrapulmonary infection and does not require special attention. For example, tuberculosis will have symptoms of tuberculosis poisoning, such as low fever, night sweats, weight loss or blood in sputum, and then tuberculosis screening can be done, such as PPD, sputum culture, and finding Mycobacterium tuberculosis in sputum can diagnose tuberculosis. If it is a tumor, tumor related examination or dynamic observation is feasible, three months review, observe whether there is any change in the patchy shadow in the lung, if there is no change, it may be an old lesion, temporarily do not consider giving treatment, six months or one year review, observe whether there is any change, if there is no change, consider old lesion, do not pay attention.
