Where and where to insert the ureteral stent

A ureteral stent is placed at one end in the bladder and at the other end in the renal pelvis of the kidney.
The purpose of the ureteral stent is to prevent narrowing of the ureter and to drain urine, and it is commonly used in diseases such as kidney stones. The ureter is about 25-30cm long, with one end located in the bladder and the other end placed in the renal pelvis of the kidney after passing through the ureter.
As the stent placed in the body inevitably rubs against the mucous membrane of the urinary tract, patients will experience some hematuria and urinary tract irritation after the procedure. During the stenting period, patients are advised to avoid strenuous exercise, drink plenty of water and do not hold urine to avoid back pain and infection caused by urine reflux. If high fever, severe hematuria, severe back pain and other discomforts occur during the stenting period, patients should seek medical attention promptly.
