Survival of locally advanced esophageal cancer treated with radiotherapy

The survival rate of radiotherapy for locally advanced esophageal cancer is generally judged by 5-year survival rate in clinical practice, which is around 15% to 20%. Survival rate of patients with locally advanced esophageal cancer is related to the sensitivity of esophageal cancer treatment, health condition of patients, malignancy of esophageal cancer and other conditions, so there is no definite value for survival rate of each patient. For patients with locally advanced esophageal cancer, the survival time will be prolonged if the treatment is sensitive, the malignancy of cancer cells is low or the patient’s health condition is good. In addition to actively cooperating with doctors for treatment, patients should have good nutritional support to improve their health condition. Patients with locally advanced esophageal cancer should keep a good mindset, actively cooperate with doctor’s treatment and undergo regular review in order to observe the treatment effect. If there are uncomfortable symptoms, they should also have timely follow-up examination.
