What is urinary incontinence

Urinary incontinence is caused by the loss of self-control of urination and the involuntary flow of urine. It is also often referred to as “inability to hold urine”. There are many causes of urinary incontinence, mainly due to damage to the bladder sphincter or nerve dysfunction. Men have less chance of urinary incontinence because of the long urethra, but after some surgery, such as prostate surgery, the bladder sphincter is damaged during surgery, which can cause urinary incontinence. When the patient coughs, laughs and other abdominal pressure increases, urine will flow out involuntarily, wetting clothes and pants, and in serious cases, urine will flow out as soon as the patient stands, causing a great impact on the physical and mental health of the patient, who is often afraid to move, afraid to go out, seriously affecting the quality of life.
