Melasma is a common skin disease, also known as “liver spot”, “stretch mark”, “pregnancy spot”, “butterfly spot”, “facial dust” and so on. “It is mainly due to the deposition of yellow-brown pigment on the face. They are mostly found on the cheeks and have a symmetrical butterfly-shaped distribution. It is mostly seen in young and middle-aged women. Although the condition has no conscious symptoms, it has a psychological and social impact on female patients. Most scholars believe that melasma may be related to the following factors: endocrine disorders, ultraviolet radiation, genetics, oxygen free radicals, serum copper levels, drugs and cosmetics, oral contraceptives, pregnancy, local microecology, systemic lesions, mood swings, and psychological factors. Treatment is to strengthen the spleen, benefit the qi, nourish the blood and regulate the menstruation, using GUI Spleen Tang with addition and subtraction; 4. Qi stagnation and blood stasis, Qi stagnation and poor blood flow. The treatment is to activate blood circulation and eliminate blood stasis, move Qi and relieve pain.
