The yellow, thick and greasy tongue coating and loose stools can be considered to be caused by dampness and heat trapped in the spleen, and can be treated with Chinese medicines such as Pinggou San and Yueju Pill.
1. Ping Stomach San is composed of Atractylodes macrocephala, Atractylodes macrocephala, Tangerine peel and Licorice. It has the effect of drying dampness and transporting the spleen, moving qi and harmonizing the stomach.
It is used for treating dampness stagnation in the spleen and stomach (dampness stagnation in the spleen and stomach) with evidence of distension and fullness in the epigastrium (abdomen), inappetence, tastelessness, nausea and vomiting, belching (belching), acid swallowing (swallowing of acid in the stomach upward to the oropharynx), heaviness of the limbs, laziness and lethargy, and often much self-liberation, with a white, greasy, and thick coating on the tongue, and a slow pulse. Contraindications, precautions and adverse reactions are not clear.
2. Yue Ju Wan is composed of Xiang Fu, Chuan Xiong, Cang Zhu, Shen Qu and Gardenia. It has the effect of relieving all kinds of depression. It is mainly used for treating six depressions. Symptoms include chest and diaphragm constriction, belching and swallowing acid (burping with foul taste and acidic water in the mouth), nausea and vomiting, poor diet, greasy tongue coating and stringy pulse. It should be used with caution in patients with weak spleen and stomach, and the contraindications and adverse effects are not yet clear.
