How long does it take to recover from multiple lacunar cerebral infarction

Multiple lacunar cerebral infarcts usually recover in less than a week. Patients with lacunar cerebral infarction, the least symptomatic of all types of cerebral infarction, have lesions less than 2 cm in diameter and often present with a variety of lacunar syndromes, including mild limb weakness and numbness, motor incoordination, dysphonia, and fine motor benumbing. Patients usually have an NIHSS score of no more than 3. It is a mild stroke with a low disability and mortality rate. The vast majority of patients are discharged from the hospital with about a week of antiplatelet and neurotrophic and cerebral protection therapy. Although the symptoms of lacunar cerebral infarction are mild, it is still necessary to insist on antiplatelet drugs and actively control various risk factors, such as hypertension and diabetes, to prevent recurrence of lacunar infarction. Recurrent lacunar infarction can lead to dementia and cognitive decline.
